Nastassja Kinski is an actress who was widely regarded as an emerging star after her performance in Roman Polanski's Tess, but who never fulfilled that promise. She is the daughter of beloved nutjob actor Klaus Kinski, although she had little, if any, contact with him.
Her first notable appearance was in To the Devil, a Daughter, which attracted controversy for her underaged full-frontal nude scenes. A series of highly publicized romantic affairs damaged her public image, and she never developed into a box-office draw. She dropped out of the limelight in the mid-1980s and spent the next decade appearing in low-quality Italian productions. Good roles began to come her way in the mid-1990s, but she she quit appearing in films around 2006.
