George Wendt is best known as Norm from Cheers, but has some significant background in horror. Although he served more as comic relief in the 1986 House, he was very threatening in King of the Ants, for which he optioned the screenplay and recruited Stuart Gordon as director.

Wendt performed with Chicago's great Second City improvisational company in the 1970s. He is currently involved with musical theater and plays Dean Halsey in Re-Animator: the Musical.
